Moblog alert

I'm heading to the Twin Cities this afternoon and may be moblogging some photos and audio.

I'm meeting with Tim Erickson, Politalk who's also been doing local edemocracy work in the UK, primarily focused on ISSUES forums.

I've visiting with some communications people in the state judicial branch about blogging.

And I'm doing a little socializing with former gofastians Mike O'Connor, Ralph Jenson and their network of beer-guzzling techies and tech wannabes.

LBP#3: Why is government leader blogging lagging?

I posted this from my cell phone after today's Minnesota Association of Government Communicators meeting. I'm guessing that it's going to take considerable citizen blogosphere attacks on local government leaders before there's more motivation to intiate blogging themselves. (I'm adding text to this post at 7 pm. I plan to add the audio to my podcast as soon as iTunes lists it in their podcast offerings… which should happen in a day or two.)

Jeff Syme, Metropolitan Council

Jeff Syme works in the communications department at the Metropolitan Council and was at today’s meeting.

I’ve moderated web forums for Jeff in the past.

Scott Neal, presenter

LBP #2 – Blog coaching update

I posted this short audio clip from my mobile phone on the way to the meeting in the cities. It briefly summarizes my morning meetings with Charlie Kyte, Executive Director of the Minnesota School Administrators Association (a new client with a new weblog called Voice of MN Education), and then with Father Dempsey.

In the process, I learned that a mobile podcast via Audioblog.com does not automatically post an audioblog here. So I could have waited till I got back to my PC and manually posted the podcast submission here as well, but instead, I chose to record it a second time so it could be available here immediately. I’m now editing this post at 6:30 PM.

Dempsey Does Analog

I took this photo of Father Denny Dempsey this morning while waiting for our blog coaching session to start.

I posted it here within a few minutes via my Flickr account, using a special email address I've set up that allows photos to be blogged from my cameraphone immediately.

I'm editing this blog post at 6 pm now that I'm back at my PC.

From the road

I may be doing a little moblogging today, both photos and audio. I've got a coaching session with Father Denny Dempsey this morning and then I'm attending a lunch seminar titled "To Blog or not to Blog" in Eagan hosted by the Minnesota Association of Government Communicators. U of MN professor and longtime blogger John Logie is presenting, as is Scott Neal, Eden Prairie City Manager.
