Eden Praire Fire Chief George Esbensen

Eden Praire, MN Fire Chief George Esbensen is now a blogger, joining his colleagues Police Chief Dan Carlson and Chief Executive Officer/City Manager Scott Neal.

I’m guessing that no other city in the Western Hemisphere (and maybe the Milky Way) has three chief bloggers.

UK ReadMyDay Project

My weblog coaching for the ReadMyDay project in the UK is humming along. (See the main project weblog with sidebar/blogroll links to the particants’ blogs.) We’re using a message board for the online classroom, hosted by my colleague Steve Clift, Publicus.net, known round the world as an e-democracy guru.

Eden Prairie City Manager Scott Neal and I will be in the UK from Feb. 16-25, visiting the city halls (do they call them that there?) where project participants — city councillors and city managers — live and work. We end the trip with a seminar in Parliament on Friday, Feb. 25. We’ll hopefully catch some soccer matches while we’re there, as well as make several field trips to the finest pubs.

“I dare say, old boy, while you’re up, get me another Old Speckled Hen, will you now? Ah, jolly good.”

Northfield Historical Society Blogsite

I’m started to revamp the web site for the Northfield Historical Society and the first piece in place is the Northfield History Center weblog with Executive Director Mark Fagerwick and Board member Rob Schanilec (By All Means Graphics) as the first bloggers.

Unit1 weblog

I’ve revamped the Unit 1 website into a streamlined Movable Type weblog.

Cecily Sommers, principal, promises to get back to blogging as soon as she gets her PUSH 2005 Conference on its feet. PUSH is held at the Walker Art Center in June.
